THE HOSPITAL NURSES.
TO THE EDITOE. Sir, —Can you or. any of the many thousands who read your paper tell me why some young ladles have to work three months as probationers in our Hospital for nothing, when .the learners in our dressmaking establishments must be > paid four shillings per. week? I think' it would be fair to pay the probationers if they are kept on, if not, let them go. It is generally four months before the pay comes, and may be five months in some cases, if I am rightly informed, and then it is only 13s 4d per month. Why not pay the four shillings per week? Hoping someone will take this matter up, I now thank you for your space.—l am,'etc., F.W.
