ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
[Per Press Association.] HAMILTON, -August- 26, ■ A woman named 1 Isabella Haines, Who lived alono in a cottage, was found dead in bed this morning. She had not been seen since Friday. At the inquest the verdict was in accordance with, the medical evidence that the woman died from congestion of the lungs. WESTPORT, August'26. X At the inquest touching the death of William Lawrie, the Jury returned a verdict that the deceased met his death accidentally by a fall of earth iin a drain in a cutting in tie Westport railway yard, and, that no blame was attachable to anyone. DUNEDIN, August 26r _At the inquest on" Hugh M 1 Dennett, killed by a tramcar, the jury returned a verdict that the deceased was accidentally run over, no blame being attachable to anyone. They added a recommendation that a second light should be carried in front of the tramoars, and calling the attention of the authorities to the urgent need for a public. morgue.
