Tie following dredging returns are to. band: —AI 31oz lldwc for 130 hours, Buller Junction 21oz lOdwt for 150 Fours; Three-mile Greenstono 290 z for 96 hours, Pactolus 20oz for 116 hours, Almira River 17oz 7dwt for the week, Maori Queen Koz for 124 hours, Ford’s Creek 13oz Sdwt f0r,119 hours, Leviaxhan 12oz 16dwt for 78 hours,' Grey River 9oz lOdw.t for 94 hours. Greenstone Junction 13oz 15dwt for the week. Ford’s Creek only got om to gold on Thursday. It is now dredging in the Grey River, near Shrive’s Treasure claim, the depth of wash being 31fr. Prospects of the Ahaura River are much improved. It is now in nice free wash, clear of all timber, and the dredge is working well. The Maori Queen s return was very gratifying, the amount of material put through being less than on the previous week. The ground is rich, hutythe dredge is not powerful enough to treat it_in. bulk. Grey River’s return was a complete disappointment, the earlier part of the week indicating ,250 z of a return. Forth Reach ha-s not yet got out of silt, but should strike the wash about Tuesday night. Silence continues to he maintained about Perry’s Reward. No information is available, which is certainly not a good sign. Prince of Wales's pontoons are nearly completed. Robinson’s Creek has been turned into a dam 1 to float them. The wall darrt of Ross Day Dawn will be completed by Tuesday, and the launch of the pontoon! is fixed for next day. Little or none of the machinery is to hand, and j-x will he ten weeks before a start can he made.
