The Opera House wan crowded to the doora on Saturday night to witness the farewell performance of the Dartos. These clever dancers received a perfect ovation at the close of their final “turn,” and immediately loft for Wellington. Lex Mac Lean, who inaid'a Ins first appearinco in Christchurch, fully bore out his title of “ The Scotch Hercules.” The ease with which he handled 2001 b weights was simply marvellous, and his statuesque posing was extremely graceful and artistic. Miss Maud Faning’s clever coon impersonations were as popular as ever, and little Alma Gray again scored with her songs and dances. The shadow pantomime with which the entertainment concluded, caused a good deal of amusement. The Hay tors will return to the Opera House on September 2, and oil tbo following day Air Dix will celebrate the anniversary of his tenure of the Opera House.
