CAB DRIVERS.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I was very glad to see that one of our own men had at last taken up the question of the Council granting licenses to men who are incompetent drivers, and also to others who think they can drink to their hearts’ content and then sit on. their cabs and make themselves a nuisance to the older men, who have always tried to keep themselves decent and behave in a respectable maimer. I suggest, for the sake of the public safety and also out of consideration to other drivers, that his Worship the Mayor should be interviewed and asked if the present state of affairs cannot be remedied. As to the Council trusting to an Inspector or the police, it is a complete farce, as it is impossible for Mr Stringer to know anything of what we have to put up with. Hoping the public themselves will assist us to force the Council’s hand in this matter. —I am, etc., JEHU.
