A DEFICIT. United Press Association—By Eleotrio Telegraph-Copyright. ADELAIDE, August 25. In the Legislative Assembly tho Treasurer delivered his Budget Speech. This revenue last year was £2,824,000,'and the expenditure £2,846,000, leaving a deficit of £16,859. The revenue for the current year was estimated oit £2,585,000, including £612,000 to be returned by the Commonwealth, and the expenditure at £2,579,000.-, It is expected that the year will end with a "surplus of at little over £6000.. . In his Budget the Treasurer said he considered it safe to look for a seven-bushel harvest. During the last four years there had - been a steady increase in producing sources, and but far the expenditure over the war and the Royal visit, there would have been a large surplus. He expressed a fear that Federation would prove much more expensive than had been anticipated.
