NORTH CANTERBURY CENTRE. A meeting of the North Canterbury Centre of the Lague of New Zealand Wheelmen was held in the Union Cycling Club’s rooms last evening; present—Messrs T. Clar’-son (chairman), T. Boyd, F. D. Kes-' teven, and H. S. Batchelor. Mr G. E. Good appointed Mr Kesteven as his proxy. The sub-committee appointed to wait on the League Council with reference to amateurs’ trophies reported what" had taken place, and the Council. communicated on the same matter. The Premier acknowledged the Centre’s resolution regarding the Cycle Boards Bill. The application of the Canterbury Caledonian Society to have its handicapping fees for the meeting to have been, held last Boxing Day reduced 1 from £1 19s to £1 Is, .on account of 'the loss occasioned by the abandonment of the sports was granted. Two cash riders, E. J. Burt and J. Grant, who had not raced since last Easter, applied for reinstatement as amateurs. Both applications were refused.
