The Executive Committee of the Hockey Association mcib «n Wednesday afternoon. The resignation, of Mr R. H. Saunders, late]y secretary, was received with, much regret, and Mr V. E. Giinni was chosem to fiJl the vacancy. The o'ther 'business was formal.' . The annual maifcch. between the' Thursday' and Saturday Juniors' took place yesterday, on Sydenham Park, and resulted in fawu* • of the Thursday players by five goals to two.
At Rangiora, yesterday, the Drapers bs*fe the local team by two goals to one. A hockey match, North Canterbury v. South Canterbury, was played at Timaru yesterday. The weather was perfect and the game resulted in a win for North Can-'? terbury by 3 goals to 2 goals. For the winners Patrick, Barry and Strange were prominent, as were ' Sturgess and. White for South Canterbury. H. Miliichamp was decidedly the best forward on, $ the ground, and Stock made an ' excellent goal-keeper, for South Canterbury. Mr Good acted as referee. The visiting team were well 'treated - during their stay in Timaru, all the arrangements for tlheir comfort and the condiucb of the contest being well carried out.
