The Legislative Assembly adopted a resolution favouring the payment of extra wages for Sunday labour to all State employees. Members . generally expressed themselves in favour of reducing Sunday work as much as possible, and were of opinion that 'the resolution would have that effect. RAIN IN NEW SOUTH WALES. Heavy rain continues. Strong southerly seas are delaying the shipping. Some of the low-lving districts are flooded. LAND FOB SETTLEMENTS. ADELAIDE, August 21. The Government has purchased for closer settlement the Congola Estate, of 55,000 acres', at £123,000.
