ELECTIVE LAND BOARDS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The best thanks o-f the Crown tenants are due to you for your valuable article on elective Land Boards. If the principle was ift existence, not one of the present members would bo in office now, as they 'aire altogether too Conservative. As an instance,. Parliament voted in 1898 some £7OO or £BOO for relief to the Highbank settlers. Throug'h the action of the Land Board the settlers ihave not received one penny of, thiis oimiount. The result is that many of the settlers have a continual straggle to keep up payments.— I am, etc., SETTLER.
