LASCAR LABOUR ON STEAMERS.

A deputation of the Parliamentary Labour Party asked the Premier to assist in an inter-State protest to the Federal Government against the employment of Lascars on subsidised! mail steamers. Ttety urged 'the unfitness of Lascars in time of danger, and \he inconsistency of the Federal Government suppressing Kanaka, labour ashore, and permitting'. Lascars on mail boats. Mr See said that the deputation had Ms fullest sympathy. If necessary, ho would call a. conference of Premiers on the subject.
