NEWSPAPER CRITICISM.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, “An Englishwoman’s ” letter, complaining of the inconsistency of Reynold s Newspaper,” fails to make it appear that there lis any divergence from, the leading tone of principle advocated by that w ellknown paper. Opinions expressed in the correspondence columns of a newspaper are not always to be taken as being identified with the political character of such paper. Hence the difference of political sentiments expressed by “ Reynolds s pro-Boer correspondent; and the authorised article, entitled “Colonial Democracy, go to prove that the editor is in accord with New Zealand and her stoe am, etc.; ANOTHER ENGLISHWOMAN.
