SYDENHAM AND ADDINGTON WORKING MEN’S CLUB.
The eighteenth annual meeting of the Sydenham and Addington Working Men’s Club was held on Tuesday evening. The President, Mr J. Hooker, took the chair, and there was a large attendance. The President reported continued! prosperity for the year. There had been a steady increase of members, 96 having joined during the ytear. The percentage of profits had been better than for some years past. Plans of proposed alterations on the Club’s premises would be submitted to the members fox their approval at an early date'. In June last a conference had been held in Wellington of delegates from the various Working Men’s dubs in the colony, when a committee had been formed to watch their interests in connection with the. Licensing Bill expected to be brought forward during the present session. The balance-sheet showed a credit of 13SOS 2s 3d. The total membership was 374. The report and balance-sheet were adopted, and after the election of officers the meeting closed.
