THE NUMBER OP FATALITIES EXAGGERATED. United Press Association,—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, June 26. The flood caused by the bursting of a cloud breaking a dam in Virginia, did appalling damage in the Eckhom Valley. It disinterred numerous bodies in a ceme-tery-in Rolff, causing an exaggerated idea of the number of fatalities. A ~party of miners at Algonia standing up to their waists in water, rescued 23 women and children who were floating past. Several negro plunderers were shot.
