This useful guide to gardeners is contributed by a horticulturist of the highest qualifications and experience, and is followed with success in all parts of New Zealand. Special article# on the cultivation of various plants, flowers, fruits and vegetables appear at the propes seasons. POULTRY. Special attention is given to practical Poultrykeeping, and advice is fully given, by an experienced Poultry-keeper to beginners and others, while “ the fancy ” is not negleotedCRICKET AND FOOTBALL. ATHLETIC. The department devoted to Athletics is undev most careful and capable supervision, and gives an entertaining and reliable account of Athletic matters in the colony and else* where. OYCLINQ. v The pages allotted to Cycling contain trust* worthy accounts of all the important achievements whether on the road or track, in Neva Zealand or in other countries. Cycling foi Ladies is a special feature of this department, which contains much that every rider, whetheg professional ’or amateur, veterans or novice* should read. NAVY, ARMY AND VOLUNTEERS. One of the most interesting and populaS features Paper is the section devoted to the views and the interests of our citizen soldieis, and the doings of British soldier# and sailors throughout the world. LITERATURE. A very large proportion of the space of th« “ Canterbury Times ” is allocated to Literature.
