Department : —Average prices tu-day : Canterbury mub.on 3§d, Dune-din and Southland 2|d, North Island Ogd. There is a s-caricity of nr me quality' mutton, There'has been mere inclination to purchase mutton during the past week, hut there is a dull .sale for heavy carcaf-tis’. New Zealand lamb, Canterbury brand, 5-id ; brands other than Canterbury s|d. The lamb market Is very firm. N:w Zealand hinids 4|d, fores 3d. The beef market is very dull. Supplies of American chilled beef .are large. The hemp market is steady: There has been no change since las: week.
