FOOTBALL.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —In your issue of June 18, an account of a football match between Springfield and a team from the Midland Railway appeared, in which it said that Midland played five men short. This is incorrect, as they played fourteen men. The report also said that only six tries were scored by Springfield, whereas they scored seven, viz., Oolthart (2), Foster (2), Grafton (2), A. *Smith (1), and M. Scott converted a trv. As to the referee, Mr J. 'Milliken refereed, while Mr Oolthart was a player.— I am, etc., H. BARKER.
