A VEXATIOUS DISAPPOINTMENT.

TO THK EDITOR. Sir, —A large number of excursionists were yesterday subjected to a cruel disappointment by not being able to board the magnificent flagship Royal Arthur. After paying their. 2s 6d fare, the passengers on board the Cygnet were taken out some distance beyond the Royal Arthur, and were then transhipped into the John Anderson. This necessitated delay, and, in consequence, when we got alongside the Royal Anthiii* the, officers refused to allow more visitors on board. A number of returning visitors were then taken from the flagship, and, with them, we were again transhipped to the Cygnet to return to port. With many others, who expressed themselves pretty strongly, as to this proceeding, I certainly think that oun/ fares should be refunded, as wo paid with' the express understanding that wo were to be put on board the Royal Arthur; certainly nob to be fooled, instead, with steeplechasing antics (not void of danger) from one little steamer to another. —I am, etc., , A VICTIM.
