ACCIDENT INSURANCE.
[From Our Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, June 22. Regarding the proposal of the Employers’ Association to establish an Accident Insurance Institution of their own, i find that, so fair as th© Government Department is concerned, the rates, which have already been fixwd were the result of very careful consideration. They axe a long way-below the seal© originally fixed in Englandi in connection with the Imperial Act. I understand they have been devised so that they may just cover the risks accepted, with the smallest possible safe margin for contingencies. The risks under the Workers’ Compensation Act are quite different from those under the Employers’ Liability _ Act. The liabilities under the first-mentioned Act are necessarily much more extensive in scope than those under the latter. . Hence the nature of the two classes of risk cannot be compared.
