THE PROGRAMME IN BRIEF TO-DAY,. 10-30 a.m.—Children’s demonstration in Victoria Square. _ ■ 11 a.m.—'Departure for Royal Review m Hagloy Park. 1.80 p.m.—Veterans’ lunch in the Art Gallery. 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.—Royal Reception at Canterbury Hall. 8 p.m.—Dinner- at Te Koraha. TO-MORROW.-0.30 a.m.—Departure from Te Koraha for Christchurch Railway Station. TEE COMPLETE PROGRAMME. The following is the programme for the Royal visit: MONDAY. . On Monday their Royal Highnesses will leave Te Koraha at 10.15 a.m., and will be driven-along Carlton uMill Road, Park Terrace, Salisbury ~ Street, and Victoria Street, to Victoria Square. Here the Children’s Demonstration will be held. The Mayor and Mrs Rhodes will receive their Royal Highnesses. Four chairs will be provided in the front row for the Duke and Duchess and Lord and Lady Ranfurly. t • A bouquet of flowers will be presented to the Duchess by Ida May Reese, of the Sydenham School, on behalf of the school girls. Shei will be supported by Gladys '-Walker (Addington School), Lucy Hatch (Richmond), and the representative of the Convent Schools.

On the arrival of the Royal party and the sound of cornets, all the children will rise, and at a signal from the conductor give three cheers. Then there will be complete silence, and one verse of the National A/nthem will be sung when the signal is given by the band. The children will remain standing, the boys with their hats off. As the bouquet-girls ate retiring from the Royal party (after presenting the bouquet) all the children, will again give three cheers, taking the time -from the conductor. As the Royal party _ are moving away one verso of the National Anthem will be sung again, and cheers will be repeated. ; At 11 a.m. their Royal Highnesses will drive .via - Victoria and Kilmoro Streets, Park Terrace, ever Carlton ■ Bridge, and enter Hagley -Park by the Riccarton Hoad gate. His Royal Highness will review the troops and afterwards present the South African war medals to returned officers, non-com-missioned officers and troopers of the New Zealand Contingents. The colours will be presented to the returned Contingents of the Mounted Infantry arid Rough Riders. Their Royal Highnesses will leave Hagley Park and proceed via Riccarton Road, Oxford Terrace, Montreal and l Kilmore, Streets, Cranmer Square andi Park Terrace to Te Koraha. , The Government will entertain the veterans and returned officers, non-commissioned officers and troops at a lunch in the Art Gallery at 1.30 p.m. His Royal Highness will attend. 1 ' Their Royal Highnesses will dine at Te Koraha St 8 p.m. In the evening the city will be illuminated again, and selections of music will be played by the visiting and local bands. At 8 p.m. the Savage Club will entertain at supperi the literary men and 'artists attached to the Royal Party.

TUESDAY. On Tuesday, at 9.30 a.m., their Royal Highnesses will leave Te Koraha, and will drive by way of the North Belt, Victoria Street, Colombo Street, High Street, and Manchester Street, to the Christchurch railway station, and will leave for the South. The Royal train will arrive at Ashburton at 11.30 a-iri., and will stop for five minutes. The Mayor of ,the Borough will welcome their Royal Highnesses. Timoru will be reached at 12.48 a,m., and their Royal Highnesses will stop there for lunch. Oamaru will ha reached at 2.40 p.m., andi a stoppage of five minute® will hi made there. At both of these boroughs their Royal Highnesses will be welcomed by the Mayors. ’
