The Ophir, accompanied by H.M.S. St George and Juno, will be received- at the outer ancxiorage- by tne Royal Arc-nur, the Rylade-s, toe xoren, the Arcner, and toe Sparrow*. The squadron will fire a Royal salute. The snips, except tue Royal Arthur, will remain at "tne outer anenorage, weather -pewnitting, until alter the ■departure ox the Opxur. , Royal salutes wiii also be fired by the saluting battery as the Royal yacht steams up the harbour. . Tne entrance of the Royal yacht -wilt be signalled rrom the Signal Station, and a welcome peal, lasting live minutes, will be rung by ail bells in Lyttelton. Ine Ophir "will be met at the Heads by the Lyttelton steam and sailing fleet, widen will then form up in procession, arid th© Royal yacht will come up to No. 7 jetty, at a a.m. ■ . Tneir Royal Highnesses will disembaxuc at No.' 7 wharf at .11.30 a.m., the Governor, the Premier, and Ministers of the Crown being present at the landing. The Mayor of Lyttelton and toe Chairman of the Harbour Board will be presented to their Royal Highnesses, who - ' twill immediately take special train for Christchurch. THE ARRIVAL AT CHRISTCHURCH.

■ A Royal salute of twenty-one guns will be fired by the E Battery on the arrival of their Royal Highnesses at the Christchurch Railway Station at noon, and immediately after their Royal * 'Highnesses will be welcomed to the city by the Mayor, who will present his -address on behalf of the citizens. There wail be present on the platform the -Mayor (Mr A. E. G, Rhodes), Mrs Rhodes, Miss Rhodes, the Town Clerk (Mr H. R. Smith), Messrs H. F. Wigram, R. Allan, G. G. Stead (Royal Commissioners), and J. H. Cassidy (Government Executive Commissioner). The Royal procession will proceed direct, via Manchester, High, Colombo Streets, Cathedral Square (north of the Godley Statue), Worcester Street and Cambridge Terrace, to the Provincial Council Chamber, where addresses will be received. His Royal Highness will reply to all the addresses, and aiftenrands proceed., via Gloucester and. Colombo Streets, to Victoria Square, and there lay the foundation stone of the Canterbury Jubilee Memorial and Memorial to the Canterbnry_ soldiers who have fallen in the South African war.

Friendly Societies -will form in order of procession and anarch past their Royal Highnesses, "who will then drive, via Victoria and Salisbury Streets, Fork Terrace and Carlton 'Mill iload, to Te Koraha. At 8 p.m. the Royal visitors -and invited guests will dine at Te Koraha. Later on in the evening, 1 the Mayor-will hold a reception in the Canterbury Hall, and their Royal Highnesses will toe present. The hall will be thrown open at 8 p.m., and the function will commence about 9.45. Guests will enter by the two northern doors, and the carriages must approach 'from the north. When the guests have alighted from the carriages, the latter will bet; driven along to_ Worcester Street, and round past Latimer Square to Gloucester Street. They ,will be drawn up in that street, the first carriage touching Manchester Street, and, when the function is over, the carriages, turning into Manchester Street again, will depart by way of Worcester Street.

During the. evening the city will be brilliantly illuminated: in many directions, and a number of bands 1 , including visitors, will play in Victoria Square. The public platforms will bo free. On Monday their Royal Highnesses will leave Te Koraha at 10.15 a.m., and will be driven; along Carlton Mill Road, Park Terrace, Salisbury Street, • and Victoria Street, to Victoria Square. Here the Children’s Demonstration will be held. The Mayor and Mrs Rhodes will receive their Royal Highnesses. Four chairs will be provided in the front row for the Duke and Duchess and Lord and Lady Ranfmiy. A bouquet of flowers will be presented to the Duchess by Ida Mary Rec«e, of the Sydenham School, on behalf of the school girls. She will be supported by Gladys Walker ( Addington School), Lucy . Hatch (Richmond), anil the representative of the Marist Brothers’ Schools. On the arrival of, tire Roy?! party and' the sound of cornets, all'the children will rise, and at a signal from the conductor give three cheers. Then there will be complete silence, and one verse of the National Anthem will bo sung when the signal is given by the :band. The children will remain standing, the boys with their hats oil As the bouquet-girls are retiring from the Royal party (after presenting the bouquet) all the children will again give three cheers, talcing the time from the conductor. As the Royal party are moving away one 1 verse ’ of the National Anthem' will be sung again,, and- three, cheers will berepeated'. At 11.15 a.m. their Royal Highnesses will drive, via Viotorlai and Kilmore Streets, Park Terrace, ever Garlton Bridge,- and enter-Hagiey Park by the Riccaxton Road gate. His Royal Highness will review the troops, and afterwards present the South African war medals to returned officers, non-com-missioned officers and troopers of the New Zealand Contingents. The colours will bo presented to the returned Conting’entfl of the Mounted Infantry and Bough Rider's. Their Royal Highnesses will leave Hagiey Park and proceed via Riccarton Road, Oxford Terace, Montreal and Kilmore Streets, Cranmer Square and Park Terrace to Te Koraha.. , , The Government will entertain the,veterans and returned

The following is the route that will be followed! by the Royal carriages this morning : —Prom tbs Railway Station up Manchester Street to High Street, High Street to Colombo Street, up Colombo Street to Cathedral Square, round the western side of Cathedral Square and' down Worcester Street, across Worcester- Street Bridge to Cambridge Terrace, thence across Gloucester Street to the Provincial Council Chambers in Durham Street, where the addresses from the Friendly Societies and old age pensioners will be presented. Prom the Provincial Chamber the journey will be resumed along Gloucester Street ■; to Colombo Street, andi thence to Victoria Square, the carriages entering at the east end. After the function) of laying the foundation stone is over, the Royal party will pass out over Victoria Street Bridge, up Victoria Street to Salisbury Street, thence along to Park Terrace, and by Park Terraco to Te Korgha, . In the evening the Royal guests, on their way to the Mayer’s reception ini Canterbury Hail, will leave Te Koraha, and proceed by Park Terrace, Salisbury Street and Victoria Street to Colombo Street, amid, then pass up Gloucester Street to Manchester Street, thenoe to Canterbury Hall. On Sunday moming the route will be from'Te Koraha by the North Belt and Colombo Street to the Cathedral. The return will be made by way of 'Worcester and Antigua Street®. THE BARRICADE'S. The whole route, this morning as far as Durham Street and Victoria Street junction will be railed off, and lined with troops and police.; From the Railway Station up Manchester Street to Hign Street ropes will be’ stretched, supporter by wooden posts beside the footpaths. A. the South Belt a post and rail barrier will be placed across from the east end of the ■station to the north side of the belt, and a similar barrier across the belt west of Manchester Street. At the Clock Tower tte public will be confined to the footpaths behind the tower, the space in front being reserved for Derry’s Band 1 . In Hugh Street to Colombo’ Street, and thence round Cathedral Square,- the line of route only will be barricaded off, and the same down Worcester Street. All intersecting street® will, of course, be barred. Cambridge Terrace will be ropedi on both sides, land a barrier erected north of the Provincial Chambers. Gloucester Street will be .barricaded, on both sides as far as Colombo Street, which will have a barrier sopth of Gloucester Street. At the intersection of Colombo and Armagh Streets posts and rails will, be'erected, and also in the centre of Victoria Street as far as the bridge. Beyond that the route will be roped off as fax as Durham Street. Entrance to the Victoria Square stand can only be obtained by the public at the Armagh Street Bridge corner. The streets mentioned will be closed for vehicular 'traffic at 11 o’clock, and the block will practically continue till 1.30 p.m. From 11.30 a.m. to 2.30 p.m. the following streets will be closed:—Victoria Street from Armagh'Street to Salisbury . Street, Salisbury Street from Montreal Street to Park Terrace, and the Terrace from' Salisbury Street to Te Koraha. People coming from the west side of Colombo Street will require to go along Montreal Street to Armagh Street, and thence to the bridge-, and those from the east side along - Madras Street to Kilmore Street, thence into Durham Street and southwards to Armagh Street. AMBULANCE STATIONS. Ambulance stations have been arranged to be in position at the following places in case of accident:—Corner of High and Manchester Streets, Morten’s Buildings, Cathedral Square, Cambridge Terrace between Gloucester and Worcester Streets, corner of Armagh and Colombo Streets, corner of Colombo -and Chester Streets, and at the comer of Salisbury and Victoria Streets. -

THE PLATFORMS. DIRECTIONS FOrTtICKET-HOLDERS. Complete arrangements seem to have been made for enabling ticket-holders find their seats on all the .platforms with facility. There will be ushers 1 at each gangway, and the letters of the sections and numbers of rows will be posted up conspicuously. 1 All .ticket-holders and .Government, guests must he seated on the platforms in Victoria Square at twelve o'clock .to-day. The only entrance to'these' platforms will be by way of Armagh Street Bridge 'barricade. Every seat - will bo re-served until twelve o’clock. These who come in vehicles must approach via Armagh Street West. As the route of the procession will bo closed an hour before the arrival of the Royal party, ticket-holders are requested to come, 1 by the following routes:—From north, via Durham Street and Armagh street; from south, via Montreal Street and Armagh Street 1 ; from east, Kilmore Street and Durham Street; from west, Montreal Street and Armagh Street.
