Last season he started seven times and scored one win, in the Autumn Handicap at Newmarket. His early engagements this season inohided the City and Suburban Handicap and the Kempton Park Jubilee Handicap, in which he figured among the lightweight division. Spectrum started eight times last season, winning the Charlton "Welter and Chesterfield Cup at Goodwood, Welter Plata a/t Doncaster, Old Cambridgeshire Handicap at Newnmrket and Final Plate at Manchester. Forfarshire was a good performer as a two-year-old, at which «ge he won the Eous Memorial Stakes at Goodwood, International Breeders' Stake 3 at Kempton Park, Champion Breeders' Biennial Foal Stakes ait Derby, and Imperial 'Stakes «t Kempton Park, besides running into a place in his other two engagements. As a three-year-old he was not so successful. After winning the Bunkley Stakes at Newmarket, he was three times unsuccessful, and then won the Great Foal Stakes at Newmarket, following up this win with two more unsuccessful efiorts.)
