The following telegram has been sent by the Chamber of .Commerce:—Sir Joseph Ward, Wellington.—The.Canterbury Chamber of Oomimerce toeg to tender you their hearty congratulations on the honour conferred upon you, and wish you long life to enjoy it.—William Wood, president; H. Antill Adley, secretary. [Fkom Ouk Corkkspondent.] f- DUNEDIN, June 20. The Dunedin telegraph staff, having sent congratulations to Sir Joseph Ward on his luiigbthood immediately the news was received here,, has received a reply from the Postmaster-General, who says:—"Among the good wishes of many who are communicating with me I can assure you none are more highly appreciated than those coming from the officers of the old department in which I once served, and I wish you one and all every happiness." [Per Press Association.] DUNEDIN, June 20. * The Otago Education Board carried a resolution congratulating Sir John M'Kenzie on his Knighthood, and restoration to health; At to-day's meeting of the Harbour Board, a congratulatory resolution regarding the distinguished honour bestowed upon Sir Joseph Ward by the King,'" In recogcognition of his great admahistrative ability ais a Minister of the Crown," was carried.
