SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
At the Addington School Committee meeting on Wednesday, the head-master reported the number on the roll as 508, the average attendance 444, highest attendance 46/7. Arrangements were discussed for the supervision of the 230 children who are to represent the school at the demonstration on-the occasion of the Royal visit. It was decided to close the school for a fortnight, for the holidays. Accounts were passed for payment and the meeting terminated. The monthly meeting of the West Christchurch School "Committee was held-on Wednesday; present—Mr C. D. Morris (chairman'), Messrs J. H. Jones, J. Munnings, G. T. Ohisnall, G. Barrell, J. J. Isbister, G. Watson, end Drs Chilton and Moorhouse. The head-master was also in attendance, and informed the committee what arrangements had been made in connection with the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and) York, and that he had applied for room for 500 children. The Boaird notified the payment of £4, to pay for instruction in swimming, part of the Parliamentary grant made for the purpose. It was decided io ask the Board to have all the pipe service already in use in the school connected with new watersupply, when the new urinals were being erected. The flagpole had been stopped andl painted, and the guys lowered, at a cost of £3 ss.
