ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
[Putt Paiiss Association*.] • SOAPIER, Feb. 16. ' Joseph Davis, a giggle man, about fifty years of age, supposed to have relatives in Auckland, was killed by the overturning Of a, carb which he was driving at West Olive. Yesterday- afternoon Mi.«s 'F. Chttttaway, of Walthani Road, Sydenham, went for'a, ride on lier bicycle to Sunirier, and whin she was opposite to Mr B. Deacon's house, a trap, driven by Mr W. ifell, of Heathcote Valley,.-came up behind and ran into the bicycle. Miss Cliattaway was thrown from her bicyd* and was partially stunned. She was. taken-into Mr Deacon's house and attended to b'y Mrs Deacon. After recovering somewhat, Mi«s C-haltaway wiis placed in the four o'clock tram andtakon home by two lady friends. Xo bones were broken, but the young lady was rather badly bruised. The bicycle was consider-' ably damaged.
