The Sydenham Amateur 'Swimming Club held a- 50yds Club Race. ou Wednesday evening. and yesterday.the 75yds Weekly Race was swum. Messrs J. C. K. Sibbaid, H. E. Sherwood and A. M. Russell acted as judges on Wednesday, and Messrs G. Reese and W. Putnam in a .similar capacity on Thursday. Mr C. Kent whs starter and time-keeper ou both occasions. W. Olldver Msec and A. Hunter 22seo also started. Final ; N. Reese 1. Time —43aee. There was a close, finish in the final, Reese -winning on the touch. 75YDS CLUB HANDICAP.—First heat: J. 'Sibbaid, 13sec, I; T. Gill, (Lee, 2. R. lE. Halil laec and H. iSherwood acr also started. Time —67 sec. Second heat: P. W. Oliiver, sseo, 1; C. Schneider, lOsec, 2. N. Reese 9sec and Field 6sec also started. Time—63aec. Third heat: H. -P. -Squires, -22 sec, 1; D. Jones, ISseo, 2. J. Hamilton 17sec and J. Poison losco also started. Time-Msec. Fourth hert: L. Squires also started. Time—7s 3-saee.' The -limit man was only overhauled on the touch, and.it was very difficult - to judge whether or not Oliiver also touched- with them. On- Thursday next a. -100yds Club Race wiil be held, for trophies presented by Messrs C. Lewis-, M.H.R., F. W. Woodward l and J. Hadfield.
