A ROUGH VOYAGE.
■ A BARQUE IN DIFFICULTIES, , [Per Press Association.] AUCA.LAXD, June 29. . The .barque. .Emprem arrived from ' Newcastle this’ morning, : having left on June 5, She .lhad"to.contend"; against* an 'east-south-easterly gale until June 10, and then gales came from the north-east . ' On the afternoon" of June 26 a sea of unusual sine came aboard, and knocked the deck-house out of shape, smashed two boats,- and cleared out the-galley 7 . The hatches were smashed' in, and considerable water went down the hold. The ship‘was almost on her beam ends. The sea, washing aft, carried away-several parts of'the* break of the poop, the binnacle, and other things. The bulwarks were tom off fore and aft on both sides, leaving a few straggling pieces. It was decided to jettison a part of the cargo, but, after five tons and a half had been put out, this was abandoned.
