MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.

The quarterly meeting of the Loyal Volunteer -Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U., was held on Wednesday evening. There was a large attendance of members and visitors. N.G. Bro J. R. Merriman presided. One candidate for 'membership was initiated. P.P.G.M. Bro Keneally and D.P.G.M. Bro Williamson acted as conductors. The initiatory charge was delivered by P.C.T. Bro Foster. P.G. Bro-Ambrose read the report of the delegates to the district meeting, which was received and adopted. The annual .general meeting of the Canterbury College Students' Association was held on Saturday evening. The annual report and the balance-sheet were extremely satisfactory. The latter showed a credit balance of £25. The annual report and balance-sheet of the "Canterbury College Review" were also read and adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows:—-President, Mr' A. 'Flower (re-elected); vice-presidents, Miss Newman and Mr J. Cooper; honorary secretary, Mr E. Parr; honorary treasurers, Miss Greensill and Mr W. Hutton ; committee, Misses Bowman, Dawe, Gibson, and Batham and Messrs M. Keane, W. Scott, R. Campbell and T. Thomas. It was decided to appoint a suD-editor to the staff of the "Review." Mr Parr was appointed delegate to the Canterbury Rugby Union, and it was decided that, a strong effort should be made to have the inter'Varsity match played in Christchurch this year.
