In the totals of the City licensing poll published two errors occurred. ‘Mr John Patterson was credited with 1000 votes too many, and Mr E. Bond with 100 too few. This make? a marked difference in the size of the majority in favour of ten o’clock closing. The seven candidates who were in favour of continuance as at present received a total vote of 17,367, while those- pledged to ten o'clock polled 18,640. The margin in favour of the latter was, therefore, the substantial number of 1273.
