At the haltmile post Jupiter began to close on Nihilist, and the pair approached the home turn in company, while FulnJen made a forward move. With heads turned for home a capital set-to was witnessed. Jupiter gradually forged to the front, while King made a determined effort to bring Fulmen up on the inside, but failed. Jupiter defeated Nihilist by a length lor first place a similar distance separating the latter from Fulmen. Djin Djin was fourth. Time—2min 17 2-ssec. Dividend—£3 12s. The Spinner and other horses hung at the post, and Corusa did not moke any attempt to join in the race. Paladin was never headed and won easiily.
