AUSTRALIAN FEDERATION.
SIR JOHN FORREST’S VIEWS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. PERTH, July 19. Sir John Forrest, replying to Mr G. H. Reid’s telegram, points out that the Commonwealth Bill was amended to suit New South Wales without the concurrence of the delegates who framed the Bill. He inferentially claims a similar right for the West Australian Parliament, and adds that he intends to send the Bill to a joint Select Committee of bath Houses for consideration. If the report is favourable to the Bill and it is adopted by Parliament, an EnabMng Bill referring it to the electors will be passed at once. In the Assembly Sir John Forrest moved to refer the Bill to a Select Committee.
