CURRENT NOTICES.
The following meetings will be held to-day:-—Selwyn, County Council, 10.30 a.m. ; Land Board, 11 a.m. ; Hospital Board, 2 p.m. The foundation stone of the new Fire Brigade, station will be laid to-morrow afternoon, and at the Oddfellows’ Hall, in the evening, a variety entertainment will be given, in aid of the funds of the Brigade. A general meeting of the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce will .be held on July 5, at 3 p.m. The members of the Loyal Riccarton Lodge of Oddfellows will hold a church parade at St Peter’s, Riccarton, on Sunday, at 3 p.™., when Bishop Julius will preach. A “ welcome home ” will be tendered to the Rev L. M. Isitt, who has been conducting a series of temperance meetings in Great Britain, at the Opera Touse on Monday evening. Mr G. J. Smith, M.H.R., will preside.
