WELLINGTON NEWS.

[Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, June 17. - The Alameda with the English mails of June 3 left San Prancisco on June 15, at 2 a.m., a few.hours late.

A deputation from the National Dairy Association waited on the Commissioner of Taxes to-day with reference to the liability of co-operative dairy factories to income tax. Mr M’Gowan said that the law officers had so advised, but the matter was under the consideration of the Government, and the tax would not be collected this year, in order to give time to amend the law •if Parliament found it desirable. This would not apply to factories where shares were held for profit as well as under the co-opera-tive system.
