PRESENTATIONS.
- The members of the Merivale Football Club last evening tendered a “social” to Mr C. M’Cree, who is about to he married. Musical items and recitations were given by Messrs Voyce, Towne, Seelen, Price, t Wilson, Phillips, Armstrong and Pegg. During the evening Mr M’Cree was presented with a marble clock, and with a gift - from the junior members of the clkib. Mr Richard Jordan, the champion draughts player, was invited to a meeting 1 of the Reception Committee on Monday afternoon. The following members of .the committee were present: —Messrs W. Robinson, A. L. Myers, G. Burgess and J. Little. Mr W. Robinson presented the champion with a purse of sovereigns, subscribed by lovers of the game in Canterbury. Mr Jordan briefly thanked the committee for the very kind reception which ‘ had been accorded him in Christchurch.
