BANDS CONTEST.
[Pee Peess Association.] WESTPORT, May 25. The West Coast hands contest was a great success. The Greytown Band won the quickstep, Denniston the test selection, and Westport the quartette. Mr Herd, of Wellington, was the'judge. One hundred and fifty-four bandsmen competed. The takings amounted to £177.
