ENTERTAINMENTS.
The Springston Cricket Club's concert,, on-: Friday evening, proved to ' be'■ one:, of the best yet. held in the district. The room was packed and every item was well received. The local performers were assisted' by Misses Wilson, GundersOn and Savage, and Messrs Dewe, Joll and Sears, from Sydenham. The following items composed the programme:—Pianoforte solos, Mr Hens-haw ; duets, Misses Wilson and Guiulerson ; Plantation songs, by the "company ; recitations, Miss Wilson, Hev Fee andMr Pemberton; comic songs, Messrs Khvde, Malcolm and Pemberton; solos. Misses U Mathews and Gnnderson, and. Messrs JoU Sears and Henshaw; phonograph selections Mr Dewe. Misses F. Henri, Savage and Blay played the accompaniments. the meeting closed- with wrote of lh«*sto the performers and the singing of. . Auld Lang Syne." The Early History" Carnival was con:tinued hv the Opera House hist, evening, There was a large attendance, and the pretty spectacular displays and dances were much admired. 'A good business,was done at the stalls. The/ carnival will be continued this evening.
