MR TANNER'S KNIGHTSTOWN MEETING.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I noticed in an editorial note at the foot of George. Cox's letter in yesterday's *" Times " that you were willing to allow me to put, throughyour columns, the questions which I put to Mr .Tanner at the'meeting, and to which T failed to get from him any reply. I now' gladly/avail myself- of- the opportunity. The. questions were as follow: Did-I-submit to you my petition for your approval, at your own house, three days before Parliament met liast year? Did you read it carefully in' my presence, and remark that it was a, credit to the man that drew it up? Did you have that petition in your possession four weeks before-you presented it to the House? It is reported in " Hansard," No. 4, page 282, that you told the House that-you had never read my petition. Is that correct, and, if so, what explanation have you to make to this meeting about it? , Why did you withdraw my petition without consulting me?, Did I inform you in the House that only three members had ait in committee to hear my case, and did you bring the matter before the House, and, if not, why not? I now call upon Mr Tanner for categorical replies to my questions, to be made through your columns. Tha.nking you for your courtesy and assistance,—l am, etc., J. S. MYERS. " Marshland. '
