Shipping Notices. GRAIN FREIGHTS TO LONDON. THE Advertisement dated 27th APRIL, signed by J. D. Ritchie, Secretary for Agriculture, states that the Government has arranged with the Tyser Company for the Conveyance of Grain at reduced rates. If that Advertisement is intended to indicate that the Government has arranged with the Tyser Line to carry grain, at lower rates than are charged by other lines, it is misleading and at variance •with facts. On the 24th March we advertised our rates for Wheat as follows: By STEAMER, 30s per ton. By SAILING SHIP, 27s 6d per ton. Thirty Shillings is quoted in a circular dated 27th April, issued by the Secretary for Agriculture, as the reduced rate now charged by the Tyser Line, while, as a matter of fact, we had been charging that rate for over a month before Mr Ritchie advertised this so-called reduction.
