ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

INQUEST. An inquest touching the death of Mary Moxham, who was found dead in the river Avon on Thursday afternoon, was held at the- White Swan Hotel on Saturday, before Mr R. Beetham, coroner, and a jury, of whom Mr Jervois Metcalf,was chosen foreman. Tire evidence of. Dr'Symes, who had made a post mortem examination of the body, was that death had resulted ’from drowning, and the condition of the body indicated chronic alcoholism. Evidence as to the discovery of the body and the deceased’s movements on Wednesday afternoon was taken, and the jury returned a verdict of “ Found drowned," and added that there was no evidence to show how the deceased had got into the water.
