' - SYDNEY, May 5. from the Pacific Islands-states that great damage has been done in the Marshall Blands by a tidal wave. At the Carolines one small island was completely washed aiway. A native of German New Guinea was shot 'for killing the captain of the. schooner &ea Ghost, eighteen months ago. The warship ■Mqewe also, punished the natives concerned id taking the vessel and murdering the crew. At the Marshall group, a trader named ' Petersen sent two boats down the coast for trade. While the crew were asleep, the natives murdered them, ate the bodies, and ■ burnt the boats. .
