GREAT BRITAIN’S CONTRIBUTION. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. « * LONDON, May 5. The Pacific Cable report has been published. Great Britain’s subsidy is limited to twenty years. Mr Chamberlain regards tire arrangement as liberal and as a. proof of the desire to co-operate with the colonies. The “Standard” considers it a mistake on the part of Great Britain hot to participate in the cost of the construction of the cable, and says that the colonies are not likely to regard the offer as a liberal one.
