WELLINGTON NEWS.
[Pee, Pebss Association.] WELLINGTON, Dec. 1. The Britannia’s colonial mails from Melbourne, dated Oct. 26, were delivered in London on Nov. 26, a day early. There is now every probability that the necessary security for the costs of procuring the extradition of Myers will be forthcoming, end the Justice Department set in motion to cause the necessary arrest. Tit is stated that Mr Schulze, Government viticulturist, has resigned, and intends to return to Europe. At the Police Court this afternoon, Captain Fullarton, of the ship Oamani, was fined £2 and costs for having assaulted Michael O’Connor. It appeared from the evidence that O'Connor, who belongs to one of the direct steamers now in harbour, went on board the Oamani in a drunken shite this morning. He refused to leave, whereupon Captain Fullarton pushed him off the gangway with a capstan bar. O’Connor fell between the ship’s side and the wharf, and was caught- in the gangway net. He sustained several superficial injuries, and was subsequently arrested and punished for drunkenness.
