CHRISTCHURCH. Wednesday, Nov. 30. | (Before Mr R. Beetham, S.M.) A Young Ofi-'endeb. —Louis M’Cuny (14) was charged with having, on Nov. 2b, broken into and entered the premises of J. Toon, Richmond, and stolen a watch and chain, value £3. and, on Nov, 27, broken into and entered the premises of E. Cook, and stolen a watch and chain, vaiUti 12s 6d.. The boypleaded guilty. Mr M’Curry, who had adopted the-"accused when he was less than two years old, said that the lad had got beyond his control. The charges were reduced to cases of simple theft, and his Worship ordered the boy to receive twelve strokes of the birch, and to be sent to Bt Mary’s Industrial School, Nelson. fTEMUKA. Tuesday, Nov. 29. (Before Mr C. A. Wray, S.M.) Heeding Cattle on Roads.—Bridget Lynch was fined 20s and costs for allowing cattle to be herded on the public roads. Civil Cases.— H. Lee v. P. Radford, claim £ls 2s. Mr Aspinall for plaintiff, and Mr H. Tripp for defendant. A set-off, amounting to £lO 12s 6d, was put in. After an exhaustive hearing, judgment was given for plaintiff for £6 Is, and costs. —J. Harrison v. G. Meredith, claim £2 7s 2d. Judgment went for plaintiff by default, foe the amount claimed and costs.
