: Christchurch, Saturday, Oct. 29. ■ (Before Mr E. Beetham, S.M.) Desertion. —Charles William Dobson •was charged with having, on Feb.-13, 1898, deserted from H.M.S, Torch. The accused was remanded until he could he sent on board a war vessel. . LYTTELTON. Saturday, Oct, 29, (Before Mr W. Eadcliffe, J.P.) Disorderly Conduct.— Thomas Hughes, John Campbell and Alexander Clark were each fined 40s and costs for this offence. The accused persons are. members of the crew of, the steamer Perthshire. ■ . Vagrancy. —William' -r' with having no lawful "means of- support, was sent bo gaol for three months.
