ANNIVERSARY SERVICES.
The Sunday-school anniversary services in connection with the Papanui Wesleyan Church were held yesterday. Three services were held, all of which were well attended. The Eev Dr Erwin preached in the morning “To Parents and Teachers, the Eev J. M. Simpson in the afternoon to the children on “ Flowers,” and the Eev A. B. Chappell in the evening to young men on “Christian Athletes.” Special hymns were sung at all the services by the children, under the leadership of Mr W. 1. Lake. Miss L. Pattrick was organist. The annual tea meeting will be held on Tuesday evening. . The anniversary services in connection with the Woodend and Waikuku Wesleyan Sunday schools were held on Oct. 20, when three services were conducted by the Rev R J Murray, of Oxford, in the Woodend Church. On Thursday evening, the annual tea and meeting, postponed from the previous evening on account of the weather, were largely attended. The report of the secretary; Mr S. Gibbs, was of a very satisfactory nature. Several recitations were given, and the Rev T. N. Griffin delivered an address on the life and work of the late Miss Willari The scholars and choir sang special hymns, Mr R. Gill conducting and Miss Skevington acting as organist.
