The Works Committee reported that twenty-five chains of the south bank bad been planted with willows, by arrangement with Mr Doubleday. It was decided to effect necessary repairs to certain buildings when they came into the possession of the Board, and a motion to the effect that rent should be charged on the buildings up to the time of the surrender of the lease was lost. Mr Wilson, pursuant to notice, moved that members of the Board should be elected by the various local bodies instead of by the ratepayers. The motion failed to find a seconder, and lapsed. The receipts for the past month were reported to have been £35 14s 6d, and the balance at' the bank to be £64 Is sd. Accounts amounting to £2O 17s 4d were passed for payment, and the Board rose.
