SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
The first ordinary meeting of the Amberley School Committee was held on May 12; present—Messrs Dalziel (chairman), Womall, Holton, Turner, Brown and Kogers. A very hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Kaiapoi Dramatic Club /for-their kindness in giving the first con-ceit-in aid of the School Piano Fund, at •which the receipts were.£l2 9s 6d, expendilid. Also to Mr Alley (master) for his exertions with regard to the same concert. The piano was vested in the committee, and rules were drawn up for its use. A special meeting is to be held nest week to .discuss the advisability of starting cooking and. sewing classes.
