LAWN TENNIS.
The return match between the Woodend and Amberley Clubs was played on the Recreation Ground, Woodend, on Saturday, and resulted in a win for the latter by seven games. During the afternoon a stormy wind was blowing, and made playing very unpleasant. The Woodend Club provided refreshments. The following is the result of the play:— ' GENTLEMEN'S SINGLES—Wagnar fA.) beat Dauiell (W.), 9-8. Coleman (A.) beat Mossnian (W.),6-l. Mason (A.) beat Farrer (W.), 6-4. LADIES’ SINGLES-Miss PengeLy (A.) beat Miss HenryJW.), 6-5. Miss Wagner (A.) beat Miss Boss (W.), 6-5. Miss Nicholson Miss Coleman (A.), 6-5. GENTLEMEN’S DOUBLES—Daniell and Mossman (W.) beat Wagner and Coleman (A.), 6-2. Wagner and Mason (A.) beat Mossman and Earner (W.), 64. ■ ' LADIES’ DOUBLES—Miss Pengelly and Miss Coleman (A.) beat Mrs Aimitage and Miss Henry (VV.), 94. Miss Wagner and Miss Coleman (A.) teat Miss Boss and Mss Nicholson (W,), 6-3. COMBINED DOUBLES Dauiell and Mrs Armitage (W.) beat Wagner and Miss Bpngelly (A,), 6-2. Coleman and Miss Coleman (A.) boat Daniell and Miss Henry (W.), 6-5. Mossman and Miss Boss (W.) beat Mason and Miss Wagner (A.), 64. Parrer and JCss Nicholson (W.), beat Coleman and Miss Coleman -(A.),-64.
