By about 3 p.m. the south-west wind had moderated, and though the weather was still cold and showery, it was determined to proceed, and three events were decided. Results : MAIDEN CLINKER BALES; £5 and £2. One mile and a half—lnvercargill Eailway Bowing Club (S. Perry stroke and H. Peter), 1; Port Chalmers Bowing Club, 2 ; Otago Bowing Club, 3. Queen’s Drive also started. Invercargill Eailway and Povt Chalmers were in the lead on turning. A good race followed, Invercargill Eailway winning by a length. Time—l4min SSJsec. Just after the race the Port Chalmers and Otago boats swamped, and the crews had to he picked up by a launch.

JUNIOB CLINKEE PAIES ; £5 and £2. One mile and a half—lnvercargill Bailway Bowing Club (S. Perry and H. Peter), 1; Wairewa Bowing Club (P. Bl'Manus and W. Chapman), 2. North End Seating Club also started, but did not finish. Time—Umin 15sec.

THE LADIES’ PLATE; £ls and £5. One mile and a half—Canterbury Bowing Club (A. S. Hardy stroke, T. Cowiishaw, H. Ayres and E. E. Wright), 1; Dunedin Amateur Boating Club (T. Wright stroke, W. Parquharson, J. Isaacs and W. Olsen), 2; Queen’s Drive Bowing Club (J. Yeoman stroke, G. Smith, W. Heir and A. Shanks), 3, Port Chalmers, Avon, Invercargill Bailway and Otago also competed. Prom a good start, Queen’s Drive and Canterbury went to the front. They kept well together until a third of the distance had been completed, when Dunedin Amateur with a spurt came up. Canterbury, after a good race, won by two lengths from Dunedin.

It is intended to get oil the champion events early on Monday morning.
