MEETINGS OF SOCIETIES.
The quarterly summoned meeting of the Loyal Volunteer Junior Lodge, 1.0.0. P., M.H., was held on Tuesday evening, in the Druids’ Hall, Sydenham, when there was a very large attendance of members. N.G, Bro Treadwell, of the senior Lodge, was also present. Sick pay was passed to one member. The singing competitien, in which four members competed, was won by P.G, Bro H. Whitham with a very nicely rendered song. The competition for proposing most new members and most regular attendance at Lodge meetings was won by P.G. Bro F. C. Cooper, Bro W. Ellis being second. The prizes for the various competitions were presented to the winners by P.G. Bro IT. Veitch, who congratulated the members on their success, 1 Sentiments were given and responded to. The receipts of the evening amounted to £7 8s 6d. The Lodge was closed in due form by N.G. Bro W. Lancaster. . .ffcaf The Loyal City of Christchurch Lodge,, 1.0.0. F., M.U., held its quarterly meeting’ on Monday, when there was a good attendance of members and visitors, amongst whom were the District Grand Master, Bro A. Paddy and D.G.M. C. F. King; N.G, Bro C. Pearce occupied the chair. There was a largo amouut of sick business, there being twenty-one members on the sick funds. Three candidates were initiated into the Order, and one was proposed for membership. One member sent his resignation, which was accepted with regret, P.G. A. W. Amos, one of the delegates to the annual district meeting, submitted Sh report of the proceedings, which was accepted. The “Three Sentiments” were given by G.M. Smith, of the Volunteer Lodge, N.G. Smith of the Benevolent Lodge, and P.G. Amos, of the City of Christchurch Lodge respectively. Bro L. Schmoll was elected a member of the Hall Committee in place of P.G. C. F. King, resigned.
